Motivational Guru’s recommend seeing the positive in all situation. Looking out my window on October 31, 2019, I really didn’t see how the torrential downpour of rain would lead to something positive. Common sense and calculating millimetres rather foretold serious disorder. So excuse me if on that night, I didn’t feel like hearing a motivational sermon.
On such nights, nobody wants to hear a motivational sermon, that’s true, nevertheless, that’s when we need it the most. So! In order to have the strength to go through this, I decided it was a good time to begin speaking to myself.
“Ok Michel! This flood is going to require lots of energy, so this is a good time to start thinking about when Mark Allen won his first IRONMAN Triathlon World Championship.”
Funny!
My mind-pops aren’t usually water damage restoration and clean up checklists, if you know what I mean.
But on that night, couldn’t take the Shop-Vac out of my mind. Couldn’t understand my procrastination. Couldn’t figure out why I never purchased one.

I started delivering furniture when I was only seventeen. Herein, you will learn why going from warehouse, to delivery, to sales, to finally settling down in delivery gives me an advantage over other sellers.
Why did I choose delivery over sales? Because in Québec, Globalisation started in the 80s which forced most small furniture stores into bankruptcy. Salesmen were left with only one option. Going to work for the Big Boys like Brault & Martineau.
But we all know corporations don’t pay much and salesmen don’t make tips, so taking tips into account, it was easier to earn a living by being a freelance delivery team.

Qualifications & Awards
Do they give awards to flood victims? Nah! I didn’t think so. Ok, so I don’t have any awards then.

But I do have qualifications. Furniture delivery taught me that customers need to take a day off work every time a mattress arrives damaged. Most mattresses come in a thin plastic wrapping which wears out when drivers push them on the truck floor. 90% of the time, there’s damage during delivery. My mattress is wrapped for a war zone. I doubt it will arrive to its destination damaged. So no work days lost.
